EL SEGUNDO, Calif. February 13, 2012 — DIRECTV will celebrate Black History month with the premiere of More Than A Dream, a DIRECTV Original Entertainment documentary about the Civil Rights Movement and the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. More Than A Dream will air on Monday, Feb. 13 at 9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 4:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17 at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. exclusively on Audience Network™ (all times Eastern). The documentary features first-hand accounts from civil rights leaders who worked alongside Dr. King and provides a never-before-seen look at the Civil Rights Movement in the U.S. The documentary is narrated by EMMY and Golden Globe Award-winner Martin Sheen and features perspectives from General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.), Congressman John Lewis (D-Georgia) and sportscaster James Brown.
More Than A Dream, which focuses on key events in the Civil Rights Movement including the Montgomery Bus Boycott, will be available to nearly 20 million DIRECTV customers on the AUDIENCE Network™. Also, 8,000 schools across the country will be able to view it as part of the DIRECTV GOES TO SCHOOL program.

Classrooms will have access to a variety of resources at www.discoveryeducation.com/mlk to provoke an active and thoughtful dialogue with students on the Civil Rights Movement and Dr. King’s life and legacy. These resources, aligned to national standards, include a chaptered version of the documentary for classroom use with corresponding teacher guides.
