Sin City Sequel Gets Release Date: Movie News

May 18, 2012

After seven long years of torturous waiting by fans of highly-stylized genre filmmaking, Dimension Films has officially announced a release date for the sequel to Robert Rodriquez’s graphic noir classic, Sin City. It will hit theaters on October 4, 2013.

Titled Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, the movie will reunite not only Rodriguez and original Sin City scribe Frank Miller, but much of the cast of the 2005 film. Or at least those that didn’t meet an untimely end in the first movie. Already on board to reprise their characters are Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba with marquee actors like Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie also rumored to join the cast.

William Monahan, who wrote the screenplay for Martin Scorsese’s The Departed, joined Miller in crafting the story, which is said to be both a prequel and a sequel to Sin City.

Black, white, and red all over, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will also be featured in 3D.
