Movie News: Expendables 2 Producer Talks Big Names for Third Film

August 13, 2012

The Expendables 2 isn’t out until later this week but one of the action film’s producers, Avi Lerner, is already talking up the macho series’ next installment.

And who can fans expect to see in The Expendables 3 if Lerner gets his way?

“We’ve approached Clint Eastwood to be one of the guys,” Lerner said recently to Total Film. “We’re talking to Harrison Ford. [And we want] Wesley Snipes when he comes back from prison.”

Some huge names to be sure, but Lerner wasn’t done there.

“We’ve got Nicolas Cage,” Lerner said. “And we’re going to bring Mickey Rourke back, if he won’t be too crazy.”

While we can’t be 100%, from Lerner’s statements it sounds like Cage and Rourke are a lock, while they are still talking to the other three. Either way, it sounds like The Expendables 3 will be about as over-the-top as an action movie can get…until The Expendables 4, that is.
