The NFL kicked off its Fantasy Draft Week Wednesday night with a star-studded party at the Best Buy Theater in NYC. The event featured past NFL greats such as Marcus Allen, Eddie George, Marshall Faulk, Michael Irvin, and more, gathered (with their draft cheats sheets in hand) for an eight-team live fantasy draft moderated by DIRECTV’s RED ZONE CHANNEL host Andrew Siciliano. Team Sharpe started things off by selecting reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers in the first pick, while Team Irving selected Jacob Tamme, our Mr. Fantasy Irrelevant, in the final pick. Check out the first five rounds below.

Like any good fantasy draft, the night was filled with surprise picks, wild trade proposals, and a good amount of friendly trash talking. It was a fun night for all, and one thing’s for certain, everyone is excited about football. We caught up with a few players to discuss fantasy football, the upcoming season, and their predictions for 2012. Come back next week for these interviews and much more. Until then, check out the photos below and let us know what you think about the draft. Did Eddie George reach by picking Matthew Stafford in the fourth pick?
