The unlikely duo of Jamie Foxx (Ray) and Ken Jeong (The Hangover) recently announced that they plan to team up for not just one, but two upcoming comedies, one written by Foxx, the other written by Jeong.
Foxx told the LA Times this week that he has agreed to take a role in the Jeong-scripted buddy flick, After Prom. The comedy will focus on two old high school friends, a former jock and an ex-cool kid, who must now guide their own children’s daunting high school experience.
Returning the favor, Jeong will star in All-Star Weekend, a basketball comedy written and directed by Foxx. Weekend will follow a hardcore LeBron James fan and an ardent Kobe Bryant fan as they try to make their friendship work despite a seething hatred for each other’s team.
Before either movie hits screens, Foxx will next be starring in the upcoming Tarantino film Django Unchained, with next summer’s White House Down to follow. Jeong can be seen weekly in NBC’s smart, quirky Community, and in a more prominent role in The Hangover 3, slated for next year.
