After 10 successful years of a late-er night talk show with a midnight start, Jimmy Kimmel Live moves into the big leagues on January 8 with the standard time slot of 11:35 p.m. But don’t expect any huge changes or less off-color jokes. According to Kimmel, it’s the exact same show, just 25 minutes earlier.
Kimmel was nice enough to answer a few questions for us about his first show in the new time slot and some other very important things in life.
The first guests in your new time slot are Jennifer Anniston and musical guests No Doubt. What’s your favorite Jennifer Anniston movie and No Doubt song?
Jimmy Kimmel: That’s a good one – I think “Don’t Speak” is my favorite No Doubt song and Office Space is probably my favorite Jennifer Anniston movie.
For the rest of your life, if you could only watch three ABC shows past or present, what would they be?
JK: Lost would be number one. Modern Family – I think I’d put that on the list. And maybe Welcome Back, Kotter.
Can you sum up your life in a hashtag?
JK: Can I sum up my life in a hashtag? [Laughs] Let’s see. That’s a very strange question…. No.
And yes, he expects that Matt Damon will hear about the move.
Tune in to Jimmy Kimmel Live at 11:35 p.m. starting on January 8 on ABC.
