The wildly popular Dallas TV series ended its original 13-year run in 1991. Its present day makeover continues its legacy with Season One garnering some of the highest ratings for a cable drama in 2012. Will Dallas keep up the momentum in the second season? Season Two premieres this Monday, January 28, at 9 p.m. on TNT so we’ll find out!
In the two-hour premiere, Christopher has a revelation during his divorce with Rebecca that will impact his whole family. The family tries to bond together, except for John Ross, who is bent on getting revenge on Christopher and Elena – and he’ll use one of J.R.’s dirty tricks to do it. Harris Ryland, who will now be a series regular, blackmails Ann and she and Bobby are forced to confront an alarming secret from her past. J.R. visits Sue Ellen to confess his feelings for her.
Season Two will also have some unforeseen plot developments. Larry Hagman, who played J.R. Ewing in both the original Dallas series and the 2012 version, died unexpectedly during production. This drove executive producer Cynthia Cidre and her writing staff to work overtime to re-spin the end of the season and develop a justification for J.R.’s death – a story which got the OK from Hagman’s family. Find out how it all turns out in the new season.
Tune in to the season premiere of Dallas, “Battle Lines,” on Monday, January 28, at 9 p.m. on TNT (Ch. 245).
