Despite starting his career in comedy, Hugh Laurie became a household name by playing a cantankerous grump on the hit medical drama House.
So it’s not wholly surprising to learn from THR.com that Laurie is currently in talks to play the foil to George Clooney’s unnamed protagonist in Disney’s upcoming Tomorrowland.
Currently, very little is known about the Brad Bird-directed film other than the attachment of Clooney and Laurie.
However, rumors persist that it‘ll be a sci-fi film based on (allegedly) real conversations that Walt Disney himself had with the U.S. government in the 1950s. The legendary animator was supposedly chosen by Uncle Sam to make films that would soften the news that aliens do in fact exist.
Tomorrowland hits theaters December 19, 2014.
