We’re back with part two of our exclusive interview with Gerald, better known as Buster Posey, including some great behind the scenes looks on the set of the 2013 DIRECTV MLB EXTRA INNINGS photo shoot. Come back next week for our interview with Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers as he talks about hooping it up with Magic, trash talking to Buster, and much more.
Buster, who was your favorite player growing up?
I grew up at a great time to be a Braves fan. Pretty much throughout my whole childhood, they won the division, so naturally I was fan of Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, and Greg Maddux. But, Chipper Jones was the guy that I followed a lot growing up. To play against him and with him during the All Star Game was a pretty awesome experience.
How does it feel to be working with DIRECTV on the MLB EXTRA INNINGS campaign?
It feels good. I’m honored to be a part of this partnership and looking forward to some great things this year.
Do your friends and family in Georgia and fans from Florida from your days at FSU follow you with DIRECTV and MLB EXTRA INNINGS?
They do. It’s really great especially since we play on the west coast so much, the family can catch all the games with MLB EXTRA INNINGS throughout the season. My granddad always gets on me about how tired he gets trying to stay up late watching me play!
We’re excited to partner with you on your baseball game app called Buster Bash. Where did that idea came from?
The idea for Buster Bash came from my agency CAA. It’s a really cool concept and for me it was a chance to step outside my comfort zone. We are really looking forward to version 2 this year.
One last question, what’s your favorite TV show right now?
This may surprise some people, but I’m really into Sons of Anarchy. The more I watched it, the more and more I got hooked.
