Many will try. But few will shine. Discovery’s Moonshiners returns!

October 29, 2013

Bootleggers, backwoods stills,  white lightning—the underbelly of a long-gone American South, right? Wrong. We’re actually talking about a multi-million dollar industry. Perhaps more importantly to the participants themselves, moonshining is a tradition dating back hundreds of years. It’s part of their history and culture. It’s still alive and well. And it’s not exactly legal.

Discovery’s series, Moonshiners, tells the stories of the men and women who keep this tradition alive, and make a fortune in the process. In the all-new season, premiering November 5, a veteran moonshiner goes legal, leaving another to take over his region. Traditionalists go modern, in an attempt to dominate and expand their territory. Rookies enter their second season, with knowledge gained and a chip on their shoulders. And an influx of new shiners creates a wave of competition the likes of which has never been seen before.

Don’t miss the new season of Moonshiners, premiering Tuesday, November 5, at 9/8c on Discovery (ch. 278).
