Interview with Brooke Burns, host of GSN’s The Chase

November 11, 2013

Inspired by the hit UK show of the same name, The Chase is a one-hour quiz show where a team of three contestants attempts to bank as much money as possible while trying to hold off The Beast, a quiz genius determined to send them home with empty pockets. We sat down with Brooke Burns, host of The Chase, for a brief Q&A.

Tell us about your game show The Chase!

It pits our British quiz genius, The Beast (Mark Labbett), against 3 contestants in speed trivia, and multiple choice challenges all culminating in an all-or-nothing trivia speed round where they play for up to $250,000.

What were some of your favorite game shows growing up?

The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune.

What is it like working with the feisty Mark Labbett?

Miserable. No, only joking. He’s a 6’7 doll face. Much “like” between us. 😊

What makes The Chase different from other game shows out there?

The Beast! Our antagonistic relationship. And the fact the questions are completely random, with no categories to choose from.

Tell us your three favorite TV guilty pleasures!

I don’t watch a lot of TV for myself, but I do watch The Vampire Diaries, Glee, and Smash so that I can spend time with my teenage daughters.

If you could appear on any game show, past or present, what would it be?

Wheel of Fortune. I love word phrases and proper spelling.  Also, The Price is Right, so I can “come on down!” Plus, I’ve always loved Bob Barker.

Don’t miss all-new episodes of The Chase, airing Tuesdays at 8/7c, on GSN (Ch. 233).
