Talking Guilty Pleasures, Control Issues and More with The Talk!

December 6, 2013

The lovely ladies of The Talk will be filming in New York City next week! And in honor of their Big Apple visit they’re renaming the show The Tawk! OK, that’s not true. But what is true is that DIRECTV had the chance to catch up with the ladies before they head off to the Big Apple for their week of shows. Here is what they had to share with us.

What is your all-time favorite TV guilty pleasure?

Sara Gilbert: Easy. The Bachelorette.

With two TV heavyweights under one roof, who controls the remote in your house?

Julie Chen: My husband.  No question.  But I yell out, “Wait let’s see that!” when he skips over a channel I want or movie I want.  But he always wins out with a sigh or a comment.  The only time I get the remote is when he throws in the towel and says he’s going to sleep then he gives it to me and says: “It’s all yours!”

What is the best concert you have been to besides one of your husband’s?

Sharon Osbourne: Elton John’s 60th birthday at Madison Square Garden called: Elton 60 – Live at Madison Square Garden.

Who is your favorite TV diva of all time?

Aisha Tyler: Cersei Lannister. She would murder her own family to get ahead, fling a child from the ramparts, and be seated calmly in a brocade gown by supper. She is ice cold, relentless and mesmerizing.

Christmas is coming up! What is your favorite Christmas movie?

Sheryl Underwood: White Christmas & Best Man Holiday

Plus, be sure to follow @DIRECTV on Twitter to check out our live tweeting during Tuesday’s episode, which is packed full of great guests. Booked are legendary singer Aretha Franklin, actress Bridget Moynahan (Blue Bloods), Top Talker television host and entertainment correspondent A.J. Hammer, and celebrity chef Todd English, who will continue The Talk’s popular “Home Cooked for the Holidays” series.

Don’t miss The Tawk The Talk in New York City beginning December 9 on CBS.
