EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 4, 2014 – DIRECTV and Dispatch Video have agreed in principle to a new multi-year agreement that has restored DIRECTV’s carriage of NBC affiliate WTHR to customers in Indianapolis and WBNS to customers in Columbus, Ohio.
DIRECTV immediately made tonight’s NFL opener between the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers available to all Indianapolis-area customers.
The same customers will now see Saturday’s primetime game between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Michigan Wolverines, and Sunday’s season debut of “Football Night in America” and primetime match-up between the AFC champion Denver Broncos, led by former Colts legend Peyton Manning, against the Indianapolis team he quarterbacked for more than a decade.
DIRECTV will also provide all Cleveland Browns fans in the Columbus and surrounding region Sunday’s the 1 p.m. ET opening weekend battle between the Browns and rival Pittsburgh Steelers.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
