Last week the stars came out for STARZ®—and the return of Claire and Jaime.
Before the April 4 premiere, STARZ hosted a #TartanAffair at New York City’s historic Ziegfeld Theater to end what fans have officially been calling “droughtlander,” the long six months between the first and second part of the show’s first season. The full cast walked the red carpet, and the fans got a chance to examine some of their signature costumes up close—including that famous wedding dress Claire wore for much of Episodes 5 and 6.
Then the lights dimmed for a special screening of the first episode which included that infamous spanking scene that fans of the books had surely been curious to see come to life. Besides that shocking moment, the ep ended on bit of a cliffhanger as Claire and Jaime found something slightly spooky under their bed.
After the screening, fans were treated to a Q&A with the full cast, where no question was spared.
Laughter flowed with questions ranging from which Scotch the gang preferred (Lotte Verbeek’s preference “champagne”) to asking Graham McTavish about the wildest fan encounter—“She accidentally laid down on the ground, she got kind of tired, and it just happened to be underneath my kilt. It could have happened to anybody.”.
When asked how the show had changed her life, Caitriona Balfe mentioned the four big brothers she had inherited who now give her a solid ribbing on the regular.
Luckily the fans are a bit easier on her.
Don’t miss another new episode of Outlander this week at 10/9c on Starz (Ch. 527).
