Don’t Miss the NBA Playoffs as They Tipoff This Weekend

April 17, 2015

For pro basketball fans, the moment is finally here—the playoffs. And this year’s deck is filled with teams hungry for the big win!

Just to start, you’ve got the New Orleans Pelicans vying for a title for the first time under their new moniker, the Clippers and the Spurs bringing the heat from the Western Conference, and of course, King James’ Cleveland Cavaliers—and many, many more.

The 2015 NBA Playoffs will tip off on ABC and ESPN with the first five postseason matchups beginning Saturday, April 18. In an amazing feat in itself, Mike Breen, analysts Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson and reporter Lisa Salters will call two ABC broadcasts in less than 24 hours.

On Saturday, the crew will provide commentary for the Golden State Warriors (1) and New Orleans Pelicans (8) game at 3:30 p.m. ET. Then they’ll hop to Cleveland to call the Cavs (2) matchup against the Boston Celtics (7) on Sunday, April 19, at 3 p.m. ET. ABC broadcasts are also available on ESPN3.

This Saturday, ESPN also boasts an NBA Playoffs opening triple-header beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET when the Washington Wizards (5) visit the Toronto Raptors (4). Then primetime action starts at 7:00 p.m. ET,,as the Chicago Bulls (3) host the Milwaukee Bucks (6). The night tops off at 9:30 p.m. ET, as the Houston Rockets (2) host the Dallas Mavericks (7)—all on ESPN (Ch. 206).

If you want to study the tape, check out the NBA Playoff Preview show on Friday, April 17, at 10pm ET on ESPN (Ch. 206). Hosted by the NBA Countdown crew—Sage Steele, Jalen Rose and Doug Collins—the telecast will include an interview with Los Angeles Clippers star Chris Paul.
