When the NBA Finals tip off on Thursday, June 4 on ABC, the two teams will be coming from very different places. LeBron James’ return to the Cleveland Cavaliers was all but destined to secure the team a spot in the Finals, while the Golden State Warriors haven’t won a title since 1975.
This season saw the Warriors set a franchise record with 39 home victories, as they blazed through their games as the ones to watch. The Cavaliers started strong but faced challenges with injured players plaguing the team. Still, even without Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, the Cav were able to maintain. And now King James hopes to build on his Finals legacy, which currently stands at two wins out of five appearances.
With the regular season and playoff behind them, now, it all comes down to the Finals. Which team will prevail in the highly anticipated 4-out-of-7 showdown? Don’t miss a minute of the NBA action.
