Travel Through Rock n Roll America With the Man Who Shot the ’70s

August 4, 2015

No man had a better view to the ’70s music scene than Mick Rock. Mick, aka “The Man Who Shot the Seventies”, was behind the lens for all of rock ‘n’ roll’s biggest moments, shooting super stars from David Bowie to Queen to Iggy Pop in their heyday. Though he hasn’t rested on his laurels, keeping up with the modern mix and snapping everyone from Snoop Lion to Daft Punk, The Killers, Cee Lo Green, and the Black Keys.

This summer he’s exploring his love of music in front of the camera, hosting his own show On the Record with Mick Rock, on Ovation (Ch. 274) Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT.

Mick explores famous musical cities, using modern artists as a guide. Josh Groban, Kings of Leon, The Flaming Lips and Patti LaBelle take the famed photog to the sights and sounds that inspire them, while chatting about the musical process and life in general. It’s a candid look at what makes these masterminds tick, and where they go to make sure inspiration strikes. We chatted with Mick about what to expect this season.

Don’t miss On the Record with Mick Rock Sundays at 8 pm ET/PT. on Ovation (Ch. 274).
