“Each diamond has lived a life. Persevered. Suffered… Each one tells us a story, and that story, no matter how many times it’s told, can outlive us all.” – Freddy Green
That quote, spoken by ICE’s protagonist, encapsulates the subtle theme of the new original series coming to AT&T’s AUDIENCE® Network. ICE, named after the slang word for diamonds, is a high impact family drama set in the treacherous and colorful world of Los Angeles’ diamond district. The show takes viewers on a journey through the elicit world of black-market diamond trading, reminding them there is no such thing as a perfect diamond. Whether it’s the diamonds themselves, or the families and individuals who sell them, if you look close enough you’re bound to see some flaws.
ICE follows the dynastic Green family as they run their prestigious diamond firm in downtown Los Angeles. After the accidental death of a diamond smuggler, Jake Green (Cam Gigandet, The O.C. and Twilight) must work with his wildcard half-brother (Jeremy Sisto, Six Feet Under and Law & Order) to get out from under the thumb of a powerful crime boss who draws them into the dangerous international world of blood-diamonds. While the family fights to keep their business legitimate, immense pressure is placed on their relationships. Along the way, the family must confront brutal thugs, the FBI, the ruthless Sister Rah (Judith Shekoni, Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 and Heroes Reborn) and the enigmatic Pieter Van De Bruin (Donald Sutherland, The Hunger Games and The Italian Job). As the business threatens to fracture under the pressure, can the Green family manage to hold all the facets of their American dream together?
ICE is the vision of producer/director Antoine Fuqua, best known for the hit films Training Day and The Magnificent Seven. Renowned for his attention to detail, Fuqua promises to take viewers down the rabbit hole of this dangerous subculture. Over the course of the series, viewers will be shocked to learn the real story around the journey their diamonds take from the mines to the showroom floor. Each of the show’s ten hour-long episodes will be packed with high-impact, intense crime drama—more than enough to satisfy even the most die-hard fans of the genre.
ICE premieres tonight, Wednesday, November 16 at 8pm ET/PT only on AUDIENCE®. AUDIENCE® is available exclusively to both DIRECTV (Ch. 239) and AT&T U-verse (Ch. 1114) customers. You can also live stream ICE with the DIRECTV and U-verse apps on any device.
